The Emergency Transitional Program (ETP) is a six to nine month transitional
housing program. It includes five SRO units at the Central Square YMCA,
and five SRO units at the Central Square YWCA. The program serves homeless men and women
who are moving from the streets or from an emergency shelter. Program
residents are provided with intensive case management and group support
services that focus on permanent housing search; vocational and
educational assistance; harm reduction activities; and other life skills
training. Residents do not pay rent, but are encouraged to put 30
percent of their income into savings.
To be eligible for the ETP, applicants must have:
- Verification of HIV status
- Certificate of HUD-defined homelessness
- Income verification
