Since approximately 85% of the agency's clients are homeless, inadequately housed, or
at imminent risk of homelessness, CCA runs a variety of transitional and permanent
supportive housing programs for people living with HIV/AIDS. In order to best serve
clients’ needs and meet each person where they are at, each of these housing programs
is unique and sits at a different point along the harm reduction continuum. Residents
of CCA’s housing programs receive case management services as well as links to other
educational opportunities and supports.
All of the CCA housing programs attempt to prioritize individuals who are
chronically
homeless according to HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development) definitions. HUD defines a chronically homeless person as an
unaccompanied homeless individual with a disabling condition who has either been
continuously homeless for a year or more OR has had at least four episodes of homelessness
in the past three years. Immigration documentation is not necessary for many of the CCA housing programs. Immigration
issues are addressed on a case-by-case basis.
