BSSHA

Bay State Supportive Housing Alliance (BSSHA) is a permanent supportive housing program serving individuals and families whose substance use, immigration status, criminal records, and/or mental health have made permanent housing difficult. As the lead agency for BSSHA, CCA and its alliance partner on the South Shore hold a total of 24 apartment leases. This enables BSSHA residents to live in scattered site apartments in the Greater Boston area as well as on the North and South Shores.

Each BSSHA resident pays 30 percent of their total income towards rent. Each resident receives intensive case management and non-judgmental support to help build the skills and confidence necessary for greater wellness and self-sufficiency. The goal of BSSHA is to stabilize and enable residents to secure their own permanent affordable housing within two years.

To be eligible for BSSHA, applicants must have:

• Verification of HIV status
• Certificate of HUD-defined homelessness
• Income verification
