VISTA - Operations Department



CCA is seeking a VISTA
for its Operations Department.

Cambridge Cares About AIDS, Inc. (CCA) is seeking a VISTA in its operations department. The anticipated start date for this position is July 15, 2008.

The mission of Cambridge Cares About AIDS (CCA) is to respond to the HIV/AIDS epidemic by serving those most impacted by social and economic inequality. CCA provides accessible prevention, education, advocacy and support services in accordance with harm reduction principles to help people meet self-identified goals.
 

Position Description
This full-time position is responsible for expanding capacity in the Operations Department by developing a successful volunteer program, coordinating and increasing participation in HIV College, and leading the benefits committee in a review of the agency‘s benefits package.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or three years of experience as an administrative assistant.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint as well as internet searching.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently, effectively, and independently.
  • Detail-oriented, efficient and well organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience working with issues related to substance use and abuse, harm reduction, homelessness, mental health, and bi-lingual/bi-cultural communities preferred.
  • Commitment to harm reduction philosophy and/or experience delivering services within a harm reduction framework.

    The VISTA program offers many benefits, including the choice of a $4,725 education award or $1,200 post service stipend, health coverage, monthly T pass, and pre-service orientation and continuing development training. Eligible participants may also receive discounted child care, a $550 relocation allowance, student loan forbearance, interest accrual on student loans, and/or food stamps. In addition to these benefits, AmeriCorps*VISTA members learn new skills and acquire qualities of leadership that help prepare them for jobs, and gain a sense of satisfaction from making a significant contribution to their community.

    Salary Range: Living allowance of $949/ month or 11,388 a year
